Job Description : What you will be responsible for: A ‘Senior DevOps Engineer II’ is an experienced member of our DevOps team. As a senior engineer you will create and automate DevOps pipelines of software products which are built in diverse technology stacks. You will be responsible for researching and learning about DevOps best practices and implementing them in your team. Your work output will enable other development teams to integrate, test, package, deliver and deploy their software systems which enable online bookings, payment transactions and personalized messaging to millions of customers who book their travel with Yatra.com. This career establishing role exposes you to complex programming skills, design patterns and DevOps practices. Therefore, the role requires you to demonstrate not just an ability to quickly learn a programming language and framework that you can use to build an A class DevOps pipeline, but also an ability to guide younger members of the team by way of guidance and exemplary work. Alongwith, the role also requires very good analytical skills, ability to debug problems in an existing piece of code and work with other team members in a collaborative environment. This stage of career requires you to play an independent contributor role where you are expected to work on specific problems in an independent manner with minimal assistance. This role also requires you to own a small team of engineers and work on complex set of problems in a group. Profile What you need to succeed in the role: Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes. Deliver the vision of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in close collaboration with development teams. Develop or integrate mechanisms for testing and examining code written by others and analysing results in the DevOps pipeline with focus on maximum autonomy and enablement of software developer. This will typically include plugging of static code analysis, test automation suites, performant testing suites and integration testing suites in the DevOps pipeline. Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended. Following a governance model to prohibit misuse or abuse of cloud resources, avoiding over provisioning, implementation of code based infrastructure management. Innovate DevOps processes of different technology stacks with automation and primary goal. Bring security, predictability and observability into the release process. Incorporate best practices for efficient delivery of software systems. Staying abreast of new trends in DevOps practices; work closely with both development teams and SRE teams to come up with best mechanisms for a friction-free developer experience.
