As a Barclays Senior Technical Lead, you will be joining the Equity Funds Solutions Direct technology team working with the Structured Products Equity Derivatives business. As part of Markets Execution Technology you will be primarily focused on Front Office Sales & Structuring, but working closely with Trading, Middle Office and other associated functions as well. You will be owning, developing and shipping both revenue generating and regulatory projects in addition to improving the existing system.

What will you be doing?
• Being responsible for more than just your own deliveries, but that of the team as well. This will require a growth mindset and the ability to train, grow and guide a local team
Hands-on technically developing high quality maintainable code in Java and Python for yourself and team with some 2nd / 3rd line support and mentoring of junior resources on/off-shoreMaking technical choices that require a strong understanding of the problem domainCollaborating and communicating globally with other developers and team leads to build technical solutionsAdhering to Policies & Standards appropriate to the role outlined in the Code of Conduct and mandatory trainingWorking in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban)Working in cross-region teams and projectsWorking with the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and web services
What we’re looking for:
• Extensive experience of developing medium to large scale core Java multi-tier / multi-component applications and hands-on experience with Micro-services and cloud based technologies
Hands on experience with core python and modules such as Pandas, Numpy etc.Experience in building: internet/client facing secure portals and APIs; application with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate; server side, highly scalable applications & components.Experience of technically managing a team
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Strong knowledge of software development methods, tools and standards so that the team complies with said practices
Knowledge of Angular or other web technologies and of QIS / Equity Derivatives / Structured productsExposure to Oracle PL/SQLKnowledge Prior experience of managing & deploying applications on OpenShift
