Our Team ‍✈
The PDG (Product Development Group) Engineering team solves problems and develops impactful features to support Finantier’s vision of being the leading Open Finance platform across Southeast Asia. We are polyglots with a commitment to excellence! We use Golang, Python, and Java in a microservices architecture, we also rely on serverless processes in the cloud. ReactJS is our library for the frontend.
We are seeking a Technical Writer for our Open Finance products who is a self-starter. You thrive when working with great autonomy while knowing that you can rely on solid support from colleagues. You will get to figure out how to explain our brand new product experiences to developer and user audiences, helping them to rapidly get value from our solutions. You will work with high-calibre colleagues across product management, product design, engineering, data science and customer-facing teams, all committed to our mission to increase financial inclusion across Southeast Asia.
The Responsibilities
Conceptualise and deliver API Docs, Getting Started Guides, in-app Help and FAQs for both developer and business-user audiences
Build experiences for our users that are not flat textual docs, but that integrate interactive tooling, audio and video to encourage experimentation and impactful learning
Be resolutely user-first and ground all your work in user research and metrics that show how our products and documentation is delivering for our users
Own and build best-practice processes for your area with guidelines, templates and outsourced tooling that increases the velocity and quality of cross-functional work
Oversee outsourced translators for localization of our docs
Work hand-in-hand alongside product managers and engineering managers to build product strategy, identify requirements, and help prioritize and sequence the roadmap
Collaborate with our UX/UI Product Design teams to build and maintain common style guides, glossaries, taxonomies and information architecture designs across our product surfaces
You can also choose to flex your skills into UX Copywriting, helping to craft the messaging and microcopy that appears in our product UX to make complex things easily understood and actionable
Team up with Product Design and Marketing teams to maintain a consistent style and brand voice in all our messaging
Know how to use analytics to measure the effectiveness of the experiences we deliver through our docs during testing and when deployed live; work with our data teams to design experiments to iteratively improve our docs design
By working at Finantier you will naturally become an evangelist on the market for the user-centric design of Open Finance systems that allow for broad participation so that the benefits of the technology can have the greatest impact
The Requirements
5+ years of continuously-increasing responsibility experience in writing documentation for software products as part of a product + engineering team
Specific experience in writing API Docs for a developer audience
We prefer if you have experience in enterprise software and in financial services/fintech, ideally for products that combine both consumer, business and developer user personas
Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia, knowing other Southeast Asian languages would be a plus
Can show a portfolio of work that includes complex documentation sets with a clear information architecture
You have an innate sense for what makes for documentation and messaging that can educate and guide a diverse audience; you have a healthy obsession with word-perfect copywriting and quickly spot inconsistencies
Experience in building documentation as part of product experiences that are designed for localization and accessibility
Proficient with tools and technologies we use such as HTML, Markdown; version management systems like Gitlab; design tools like Figma, Miro; have your own strong opinions on tools that improve your work and that of your colleagues
A high degree of creativity and enjoyment in finding solutions to hard problems that have never been solved before
