Overview:
Salesforce is looking for an experienced technical writer to support the Technology Services teams in India. We help readers get the most out of learning the technology we use to build, ship, and operate Salesforce. Your charter will include creating documentation, communications, and Trailhead content to educate and inform all Salesforce engineers. You’ll partner with key stakeholders in the Tech COO org and writers in the US to prioritize and drive a backlog of a variety of content types. If wearing a content strategist hat is something that attracts you, this role will give you opportunities to design meaningful jobs-to-be-done content experiences for Salesforce engineers.
About the role:
The Technology Services org writer supports content needs, training, and communications for the entire Technology organization at Salesforce. You will create content for developers, managers, scrum masters, and other key personas within the Salesforce organization. You’ll work in a tight-knit group of technical writers who prioritize projects with guidance from senior leadership across Content & Communications Experience (CCX), Training, Agile, and engineering leaders driving company-wide change. The content you create will support key company KPIs and initiatives and spans developer documentation, process enablement content, newsletters, Trailhead content, and Confluence spaces. Chief among this content will be instructional material for Trailhead – Salesforce’s online, gamified learning system. This role will challenge you to don multiple hats, including that of a content strategist, a communications partner, and a developer enthusiast. Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or an English degree
Superb English writing skills
2+ years of experience of experience communicating challenging ideas to diverse and technical audiences
Ability to work on multiple projects at once
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Strong content strategy skills with a customer advocacy mindset
Great people and communication skills
Focus on quality and details
Strong team player
Desired Experience/Skills:
Experience in curriculum development, training, or Agile methodologies
Experience writing for a highly technical developer audience
Experience with source control software such as Perforce, Git
Experience with XML-based authoring tools such as Oxygen, Trailhead authoring tools
Knowledge of DITA and structured authoring
