Job Description : As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will be part of supporting a Data Platform that is part of the core data strategy across the firm. This roles offers an opportunity to work on a cutting-edge platforms and interact with business processes of a leading global bank. The role expects an end to end involvement in supporting, understanding the components in the big data platform, , building automation tools to reduce manual toil, adopting core SRE principles across technologies such as Big data, AWS, CI-CD.
The presence of the team is in parts of North America, and India. collaborating on the design and implementation of the platform while working very closely with the application development groups in Corporate Technology and the platform developers.
Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an software engineering discipline
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in development
Design, code, test and deliver software to automate manual operational work
Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents
Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes
Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives
Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions
Demonstrate ability to work independently with strong ownership, collaboration & communication skills
Intermediary understanding in at least one technology stack or programming language coding, testing, and delivering software (Java/Python/Scala)
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
Experience with continuous integration/development toolkits like GIT/Subversion/Jenkins/Sonar
Strong UNIX scripting skills
Experience in understanding deployments and CI-CD tasks
Hands-on knowledge on Big Data platform
Basic SQL knowledge
Hands on AWS experience / Cloud certifications
Good to Have
Experience deploying & supporting microservices, cloud based applications
Exposure on Data Projects and understanding data lifecycle
