This role would follow a Sunday-Thursday schedule, working Sunday, 9am-5pm and Monday-Thursday, 6am-2pm.Responsibilities: Optimize original site content for social platforms and execute daily posting across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Flipboard and moreTrack breaking news and trending topics to keep digital newsroom informedContribute to the development of growth strategies across all social channelsMaintain proficiency and knowledge in latest social media technologies and best practices (i.e. new tools, algorithm changes, platform enhancements)Handle community management across social platforms (i.e. engaging with followers, monitoring harmful comments etc.)Qualifications:At least 1 year of experience managing social media in a newsroom or at a lifestyle brandStrong news judgment and excellent writing and copy-editing skillsKnowledge of digital media trends and emerging platformsProficiency in metrics-based decision making with an emphasis on reading and interpreting dataAbility to be both a self-starter and team player; strong interpersonal and communication skills are requiredAbility to multitask, balance priorities and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environmentNote: _ NY Post will be returning to office in a hybrid capacity as of March 2022._As an equal opportunity employer, the New York Post does not discriminate in hiring or the terms and conditions of employment because of an individual’s race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
