POSITION

This is an opportunity to join a recently restructured team within a business that relies heavily on their IT systems. You will report into the Software Development Manager and join a team of 7 developers, being hands on with coding, whilst also having the opportunity to contribute to the overall success of the team.

The role is fully remote but will involve occasional travel (once a month at most) to the head office in the north of England. Fuel and accommodation will be paid when travel is required.

The role is 12 months fixed term but has a strong possibility of going permanent.

Other duties will include:

Complete all phases of the software development life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, release, and support
Troubleshoot bugs/data issues and identify fixes/changes
Focus on quality of design and implementation to reduce maintenance overheads
Write efficient and secure code
Develop cloud-native software and Power Platform solutions as part of a roadmap to remove technical debt from the business’s portfolio
Plan system designs, prototype ideas and respond to feedback and improvements
Work within robust quality assurance, SLA and KPI frameworks
Help create application architecture and development standards across technical teams
Continuously look for optimisations and efficiency improvements across the business
Manage workload and ensure work is delivered on time
Complete and maintain relevant documentation
PERSON

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in a software development role. You will possess strong technical and coding skills and be innovative offering solutions and ideas.

Other key skills include:

Minimum 3 years of experience using C#.NET / ASP.NET MVC / Web API
A demonstrable product focused approach to developing software
Strong skills in debugging/fault finding in both front-end and back-end systems
Advanced understanding of Microsoft .Net stack
Experience in working in a fast-paced Agile digital delivery environment, using scrum and Kanban
Extensive experience with SQL Server including knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures and SSRS reports
Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns and standards
Strong problem-solving skills
Possess knowledge of Software Architecture, design patterns and standards
Have experience in front-end development (desirable)
