Job Description : Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Non-internship professional software development experience
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree, or comparable work experience
Significant experience developing software in Java, C++ and/or Go
Experience with MySQL or another relational DB
Experience with code versioning tools such as Git
Experience with continuous integration, automated unit testing and integration testing
Experience with Agile and various process implementations
Experience with Web architectures and services (HTTP, REST, sockets, JSON, multi-threading, etc.)

We are looking for a passionate, hard-working and talented Software Development Engineer for the Ring team, who has experience building innovative software features and who can extend and enhance the customer experience.

You will have an opportunity to make an impact on the design, architecture, and development of consumer products.

Key job responsibilities

Write high quality distributed system software for large scale applications
Work with product management and cross-functional teams to provide technical solutions for desired user experiences
Work with other team members to architect and design approaches
Prototype technology and evaluate technical feasibility

Drive best practices and engineering excellence
Work in an Agile/Scrum environment

A day in the life
The Software Development Engineer will work with their team to deliver features for the Ring product line. You will be responsible the cloud portions of a set of full stack features, along with other engineering team members. As part of a full stack engineering team, you will work to develop and evolve the customer experience.

Experience building production applications at scale (think millions of requests per day)
Experience with Spring, Hibernate and other Java frameworks
Experience designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services
Familiarity with AWS and have built apps leveraging its offerings (S3, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, EC2, Kinesis, Cloud Formations, etc.)
Experience with Docker
