Job Description : Overview: Dotmatics are seeking a Software Engineering Manager, reporting into our UK Head of Development, to take responsibility for a team of Engineering Leads developing our market leading enterprise platform for scientists. You will have experience of overseeing multiple cross-functional engineering teams, delivering value through Agile methodology and managing the dependencies which exist between closely integrated products and services.Responsibilities:Co-ordinate and lead multiple product development teams including sub-teams lead by Development Team LeadersContribute towards the development and management of department processes including quality management, best practices, code review guidelinesWork closely with Technology Operations to manage cross team dependencies and roadblocks within the Software Delivery Lifecycle.Have a handle on resource management and scheduling to ensure delivery timelines remain on track.Contribute towards architecture and technology review across productsWork closely with Product Management to coordinate roadmap and horizon view planning and liaise with key stakeholders to provide Roadmap AssuranceAssist with inbound and outbound technical due diligence processesQualifications: SKILLS & EXPERIENCE7+ years of Software Development experience.3+ years of experience in building and leading strong engineering teamsComprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycleDeep hands-on technical expertise in web-technologiesSolid software development background including Agile methodology, design patterns, data structures, test driven developmentSoftware development experience in building web services and highly scalable applicationsExperience in development tools such as Jira, Confluence, JenkinsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent delegation and time management skillsManaged a team of 10+ engineers*QUALIFICATIONS*Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experienceLocation: UK (Remote-working),UK (Remote-working), Home BasedJob Types: Full-time, Permanent
