THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic Solutions Architect who has significant experience providing architectural scoping, design, and technical delivery leadership in support of major systems implementation and/or digital transformation projects. This role is part of a team that provides IT project delivery services to the University and University Hospital. We work directly with strategy and enterprise architecture, and IT operations teams to ensure our technology assets and investments are aligned with the University’s strategic objectives and plans.
The University is embarking on an ambitious digital transformation journey, and this is a rare opportunity to be involved in shaping the University’s architectural landscape for improved service performance, resilience, and agility.
About You
You will be an experienced Solutions Architect who has worked in the education sector, preferably in other Universities or other large, complex public sector environments. Your specific experience will have included both cloud (AWS) and on-premise systems implementation and integration projects in complex heterogenous environments. Experience in the health sector will also be highly regarded.
You will have a solid understanding of sound architectural method, risk management, and governance, and be able to develop technology standards, target state architectures and roadmaps for delivery according to best practice processes. You will be a self-starter and enjoy working in a dynamic environment as a team player, are motivated and driven by the outcomes and challenges of delivering standards-based and fit-for-purpose architecture solutions, with a methodical and consultative approach in your work.

Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Demonstrated knowledge of architectural method and standard architectural frameworks, and experience with their application in a complex enterprise environment, which may be supported by relevant certifications (such as TOGAF).
Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working with one or more project management methodologies, which may be supported by certification (such as Agile, PRINCE2 or PMBOK).
Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of solution architecture and design of enterprise systems within complex multi-stakeholder and formalised project delivery environments.
Led the design and development of solution architectures including specification of business, applications, information, technology, and security architectural domains using appropriate methodologies and tools.
Proven ability to conduct detailed technical analysis of solution options to provide authoritative advice on the preferred option balancing functional fit, risk, project and operational impact, and technical debt.
Proven ability to provide quality assurance over third party solution architecture and systems design deliverables to ensure fitness for purpose and compliance with standards within a complex and formalised environment.
