Job Description : Assessing children’s skills and learning requirements • Designing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) • Collaborating with parents and school staff to track students’ progress. • Assess students’ abilities and craft teaching plans. • Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress. • Find engaging activities to teach skills. • Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict. • Identification of the children with disabilities in the classroom. • Referring the identified to the experts for further examination and treatment. • Accepting the children with disabilities. • Developing positive attitude between normal and disabled children. • Placing the children in the classroom in proper places so that they feel comfortable and are benefited by the classroom interaction. • Removing architectural barriers wherever possible so that children with disabilities move independently. • Involving the children with disabilities in almost all the activities of the classroom. • Making suitable adaptation in the curriculum transaction so that the children with disabilities learn according to their ability. • Preparations of teaching aids/adaptation of teaching aids which will help the children with disabilities learn. • Adapt learning materials to students’ needs. • Construction of achievement and diagnostic tool. • Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP. • Develops and implements annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals. • Adaptation in evaluation for children with special needs. • Prepare students for transition to the next grade • Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques. • Schedules team meetings and works cooperatively with child study team members and others in developing instructional goals and strategies. • Monitor children’s behavioural patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed • Inform parents about their children’s performance and potential problems. • Coach/mentor other professionals who work with children with disabilities. • Collaborate with the support staff . • Parental guidance and counselling and public awareness programme through school activities. • Collaborating with medical and physiological panels, social works, parents and special teachers. • Conducts special education evaluations and revaluations. • Provides direction, supervision and evaluation of educational assistants as directed. • Complies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations. • Completes all district and state reporting requirements. • Provides consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptions, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behaviour modification plans and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities. • Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP. • Complies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations. • Completes all district and state reporting requirements. • Collaborates and consults with educational professionals and community service providers (i.e., social services, public health, medical providers etc.) regarding the needs of students.
Candidate should be postgraduate and B.Ed. Excellent command over teaching subject- theoretical as well as practical Good knowledge of latest software relevant to teaching Relevant teaching experience Good academic record Technological literacy and competency Commitment to excellence Flexibility and adaptability Collaborative and Time Management skills Planning and organizational skills Strong work ethics Sound moral character
