Location: Fort Worth, TX
Summary of Position:
Alcon is looking to hire a Sr. Engineer WAN to join our IT Core Connectivity team in Fort Worth, TX. As a Sr. Engineer WAN in Alcon’s IT Core Connectivity Department, this individual will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Alcon hybrid cloud network. The primary duties will include the lifecycle maintenance of the Alcon network infrastructure including, but not limited to hardware, management platforms, and WAN technology operating systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and upgrading or replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. As part of a global IT networking team, the Sr. Network Engineer will work closely with other IT Engineering/operations teams, business application owners and Alcon partners to support, enable deployment of IT solutions for Alcon.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, maintain, and administer Public Cloud virtual network infrastructure.
Design, implement, maintain, and administer routers, SDWAN devices and datacenter switch.
AWS network infrastructure Design, configuration, and implementation.
Azure network infrastructure Design, configuration, and implementation.
Team collaboration with other team members globally and provide support as needed.
Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing in accordance with the Alcon Security and compliance environment.
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
5 Years of Relevant Experience
CCIE-SP/Enterprise or equivalent experience.
Experience in Network WAN technology with strong LAN a plus.
Experience in Cloud Infrastructure such as AWS and Azure.
Experience working within a global infrastructure supporting WAN and Cloud.
Documentation of design and implemented solution.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting AWS, Azure, SDWAN, MPLS, and MAN environments.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Work hours: Full Time, On Call Support
