Job Description : We are on the hunt for a Strategic Business Development Manager who will work across our Legal and Tax/Accounting products their key priorities will be growing the book of business to build increasing value and achieve overall revenue targets.
The Strategic BDM will be responsible for driving growth in key accounts that are currently under penetrated. They will bring deep subject matter expertise across Legal and TAP content and will work with key decision makers across corporates, legal practice, tax and accounting practice.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Strategic Business Development Manager, you will:
Own the target for Westlaw, Practical Law, Checkpoint, Cleardocs and other Legal and TAP Content propositions.
Sell content to a list of named account taking a strategic, mid to long term approach to growing the business.
Build on expert knowledge to target client base, recognize client needs and propose solution.
Prospect and demonstrate Thomson Reuters’ capability to new customers, develop proposals, negotiate contracts and ultimately close new business
Major emphasis on opening up new business with named accounts.
Adhere to the weekly activities target, as per respective territory
Ensure the effective handover of accounts to Client /Strategic Account Management including transition meetings and provide feedback from the customer to business segments
Collaborate with Client/Strategic Account Managers to deliver sales within existing accounts.
Deliver recurring and outright revenue, secure liquidity on selected products, generate new opportunities, follow and develop opportunities and leads provided by other sources.
Gather feedback from the customer, maintain accurate customer contact and opportunity data in the appropriate CRM system, develop innovative approaches to problems, can become the product champion
Build knowledge of competition, maintain accurate customer contact and opportunity data in our CRM system, and conduct win/loss analysis plus maintain strong awareness of external market, to identify business opportunities.
Liaise on regular basis with Proposition to develop market attractive offerings to establish TR as leading information provider in relevant segment.
Pioneer thought leadership activities and distribution of relevant materials to designated customers.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Strategic Business Development Manager, if you:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional field sales or SaaS business development role
Legal qualifications helpful, and/or experience working in the legal market OR B2B sales to professionals.
Demonstrated understanding of the in-house legal or Law Practice market is preferred
Demonstrated track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales targets
Excellent active listening, negotiation, presentation and consultative sales skills
Customer centric approach
Commercial acumen and ability to identify opportunities in white space
Ability to partner effectively with the wider sales team and internal stakeholders
