Job Description : Cedars Care Services provides high standards of support and care to young adults with learning and physical disabilities. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to provide effective, person centred care for the residents and service users within our residential and respite homes.We are currently recruiting for part time, full time and maternity cover positions (24 to 35 hours) with optional overtime available. Positions are for day shifts and/or waking night shifts on a flexible working rota – rotas are completed 4 weeks in advance. Shifts are 12 hours per day/night depending on the needs of the home, with more flexible shifts within the respite home. Increments are paid hourly for waking night shifts. All Bank Holidays are paid at time and a half, or double time, depending on the Bank Holiday. We also run an on call service, which staff are paid for at rates for weekdays and weekends.You will be required to work as an integral member of the team and adhere to the aims and objectives of the company. You will support the day to day running of the home by completing duties such as record keeping, cooking, cleaning, laundry etc. You will be supporting a range of individuals with different needs and abilities. The individuals using our service require 1:1 support, so you will work closely with the people using our service, building positive and meaningful relationships. As part of the job role you will be expected to provide support with activities, social trips and community access which can include meals out, day trips, holidays, swimming, cycling, cinema, bowling, visiting friends and family – whatever the service user enjoys to do, we will support them to do it! You will provide personal care whilst offering dignity and respect, support with medication and health needs/appointments where required. We always look to assist in developing the skills and independence of the individuals in our service by supporting to complete every day tasks such as personal hygiene, preparing food, shopping, domestic tasks etc. We believe that all individuals should be empowered to make choices in their care, enabling them to maximise their potential and improve wellbeing.Experience is not essential as a full induction and extensive training package is provided by the Company. You will complete mandatory training with the first 4 weeks of employment. You will be allocated a mentor to guide you through your induction and shadow experienced staff who will help you learn the ropes and develop into a competent member of the team!You will be supported to undertake a QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care, if not already achieved, to broaden your knowledge and skills.You will be entitled to 5.6 weeks of annual leave, which will increase with extended service.You will be provided with meals and drinks whilst on shift.
