Real Community Services aims to provide flexible employment arrangements to support our staff and their families. About the Role

Real Community Services has casual positions available for experienced Support Workers working in a community setting. These positions may be eligible for part time contracts after twelve months if the Support Worker meets the criteria for a part time contract. We have shifts available in the Logan and Redlands areas for a variety of participants.

The shifts we are recruiting for are as follows (please note that some flexibility will be required in order to cover holidays and other absences)

Participant 1 (female Support Worker)

Our participant, who resides in the Redlands, has early onset dementia and needs prompting with daily tasks and medications.

Shifts are as follows (some flexibility is required to cover absence)

Monday 4 or 5pm to 8am (Sleepover shift)

Sunday 4pm to 8am (Sleepover shift)

Participant 2 (female Support Worker)

Our participant, who resides in Logan, has requested a female Support worker to help with personal care, meal preparation and medication support. Our participant would prefer a worker who has had experience with supporting an individual with diabetes, catheters and CPAP machines – training can be provided to the right candidate.

Shifts are as follows (with some flexibility to cover absence)

Wednesday 8am to 1pm and 7pm to 9pm (you can do one or both shifts)

Thursday 8am to 1pm and 7pm to 9pm (you can do one or both shifts)

Participants 3
Our participant would like a support worker who has experience supporting an individual with mental health and an ABI which impacts on his ability to make complex decisions. Our participant would like a Support Worker who can engage with him and motivate him to access his local community. Our participant is looking for worker that enjoys local events and activities, Bruce Lee movies, road trips, coffee and listening to music from the 70s and 80s

Our participant will need a Support Worker who can fill gaps in his roster which is:

Monday to Sunday tam to 2pm and 2pm until 6am (Sleepover)

Skills and Experiences

Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities highly desirable
Relevant nationally recognised qualification highly desirable
Must have a driver’s licence and own reliable transport
Current Paid employee Blue Card (or willing to obtain before employment)
Current Paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain before employment)
Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain before employment)
NDIS ‘Worker Orientation’ module (or willing to obtain before employment)
COVID 19 Infection Control certificate (or willing to obtain before employment)
Full Australian working rights
Smart phone with internet access (IOS9+)
Two current (within the past 2 years) professional references from a supervisor will be required
