The Tableau CSG Strategy and Transformation team is a newly created global team with the mandate to design and incubate forward-thinking and transformative solutions and teams across CSG.
What you’ll be doing…
Within the CSG Strategy and Transformation team, you’ll be supporting the Success Hub team with post-sales subject matter experts to develop deep relationships and provide tailored guidance for our customers to help get the most out of their Tableau and Salesforce investment. This team will work collaboratively with the wider CSG team and partner closely with Sales, product, engineering to make our customers successful. They will help Tableau and Salesforce increase customer adoption, enable services opportunities, prevent customer attrition and drive future expansion opportunities.
The Technical/Senior Technical Consultant, will be the Tableau Core and Tableau CRM product expert on the team to help solution technical or complex problems for our customers. A key aspect of the Senior Technical Consultant role at Tableau is nurturing customers to develop a culture of self-service analytics utilizing visualization best practices. The Senior Technical Consultant will be highly skilled in Tableau-adjacent technologies that help Tableau integrate in a complex customer deployment. The Senior Technical Consultant will work on time bound, non-billable engagements to deliver valuable assessments and tailored guidance to our customers.
You will be responsible for being a customer advocate and take full ownership of delivering value through the engagement by providing technical & analytical expertise on Visual Analytics and guidance on Business Intelligence best practices. You will play the key role of providing feedback to the Sales and Services teams about future opportunities and Influence product direction by feeding customer requirements from the field to our product management and engineering teams.
Some of the things you’ll be doing include…
Developing expertise in the features, benefits and application of Tableau’s products – Deep understanding of our Desktop/frontend product(s) and it’s integration into client solutions, and an intermediate level understanding of our Server product(s)
Be an expert in Tableau APIs and how to use them to provide solutions to customer issues.
Participate in the Success Hub team triage process to help scope and size the effort before assignment to a team member.
You would be handling all technical objections that a Customer might have with respect to their solution.
Conduct discovery exercises and deep customer analysis and data reviews.
Develop detailed assessments and recommendations for customer implementations.
Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with customers, assisting and guiding them on the findings, potential opportunities and solution paths.
Provide guidance to customers on how to build a One Analytics strategy, governance models, security considerations and a synchronized deployment setup between Tableau Core and Tableau CRM products.
Lead the customer readout session and ensure a seamless hand-off to the account executives and success guides.
Create Post-Engagement Summaries and document final proposed solutions for customers.
Conducting data reviews, product demonstrations and ad-hoc customer workshops
Provide mentorship to other success guides and Senior Technical Consultant.
This team operates 24×5 which can involve working during one of the below shifts (not limited to – shift timing can change)
AMER hours (Eastern Standard Time – 5.30 PM/ 6.30 PM IST or Pacific Standard Time – 9 PM/ 10 PM IST onwards depending on Daylight Savings Time)
EMEA hours – 12:00 PM/ 1 PM / 2 PM IST onwards depending on Daylight Savings Time
APAC hours – 5.30 AM IST onwards
Work hours can change depending on Business requirements
Who you are…
Experienced.
7-10 years of relevant experience in Consulting or Pre-sales or Professional Services Delivery roles in related industries.
Extensive experience in Tableau and/or Tableau adjacent technologies (especially Server technologies).
Data Architecture and Data Engineering
Salesforce implementation experience
Enterprise application integration experience
Data Rock Star. Knowledgeable in databases, warehouses and BI/Visualization Solutions – i.e. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Cognos, Business Objects. Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server Experience recommended.
Visualization Specialist. You have a love of creative visualizations that help customers see and understand their data.
Customer-Centric. Experience owning customer engagements and providing best practice advice. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage expectations and customer demands
Problem Solver. You love tackling the most difficult of challenges and know how to get to the best solution. You partner with customers to drive business change and implement end to end solutions as a trusted technical advisor.

Highly Technical. You have strong technical skills across various technologies. Understanding of data querying and ability to read SQL statements; programming languages desired – Python & R preferred but not required.
Analytically-minded. Strong mathematical/analytical skills. Experience in statistical Solutions desired.
