Job Description : NOTE: HAVING EXPERIENCE WORKING IN TECH MEDIA WEBSITES WILL BE PREFERREDTechGenyz is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced News Editor to lead tech coverage in the company. The Editor will cover a range of topics for the section, including mobile news, apps, gaming, social media, software reviews, AR/VR, and more from the tech domain.Candidates should have at least 2-years of experience editing news and feature stories and be strong conceptualizers of reports in many formats.Candidates should have proven editing experience, be familiar with TechGenyz’s voice and technology coverage, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and have a strategic, critical eye — all while balancing sensitivity and inclusivity in everything they cover.Your Day to DayEdit news to present information with accuracy, flow, and within the time frame – maintaining optimum TAT per storyManage and edit content to cater to readers’ requirements and provide detailed information for the sameDesign and implement coverage strategies to facilitate broad coverage of all sorts of issues and newsEvaluate all news for authenticity and check with sources to ensure the correctness of published articles to avoid conflictsCollaborate with Reporters, Editors, and Marketing Manager to facilitate efficient news coverage to strengthen the company’s position in the media market.Getting stories published while maintaining optimum TAT per storyEnsuring value-adds in stories whenever required while ensuring deadlines and enabling team members to meet targetsMonitor all feeds from news bureaus and other agencies for editing and further publication.Editing copy, written by reporters or features writers, to remove spelling mistakes and grammatical errorsTraining team for breaking, exclusive stories; bringing in more depth in the stories; interviewing key people in the industryBrainstorming new story formats, interviews, features, themes, etc. when requiredEnsuring timely publishing of breaking stories beyond working hoursWriting headlines that capture the essence of the story or are clever or amusing.Checking facts and stories to ensure they are accurate, adhere to copyright lawEnsuring that a story fits a particular word count by cutting or expanding material as necessaryQualifications: Master’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related fieldAt least 2-years of experience supporting content/online roles.Skills Required: Should have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce persuasive copy in a limited space.Should understand and have passion for Tech & StartupKnowledge of WordPress CMS, Canva, SEMRushMust be able to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environmentExperience sourcing, researching, and writing creative, engaging technology storiesAbility to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashionOur Six-step Hiring ProcessReview: We review applications and see the candidate is a good fit for us.Initial Interview: We first talk to the candidate and get to know you better.Small Project: We will assign a small project to see your efficiency and time management skills.Final Interview: You will appear for the final interview with the manager of the team.Get Offer: Cracked all four stages?
