Department Description
Fidelity is investing in its Enterprise Architecture team with the purpose of serving the needs of Fidelity. This investment will enable the Business, Technology, and Data strategies to flourish, to realise targeted business opportunities, and unlock value. Enterprise Architecture operates across the business and domain portfolios.
Overall, the function’s aim is to:
Unite Business, Technology and Data strategies into a technology roadmap
Lead the transformation of Fidelity’s technology estate
Align innovation with strategy and business need
Provide strategic thought-leadership for Fidelity
Commission key strategic change and drive adoption
Ensure efficient use of change investment leading to maximum business value return
Operate across technical, organisation and process challenges to drive design of enterprise solutions
Instigate and direct the Delivery function’s regulatory and compliance engagement, verifying success through governance checks
Educate technology and business on solutions and technologies that are relevant to Fidelity’s strategic goals

The three key pillars of Domain Architecture are: Cloud, Digital, and Unbundling.
Purpose of the Role
As a Domain Architect you will be expected to contribute to, and advocate for, the strategic direction on APIs and on the wider Unbundling Strategy in Fidelity. You will advise and guide Delivery function teams and play an active role in education and governance on the topic of APIs and operating a decoupled architecture.
Key Responsibilities
As part of Domain Architecture, you will work with system architects, distinguished engineers, business analysts and delivery leads to guide and, to an extent, implement the most appropriate integration patterns
Interact with stakeholders to understand their problems and provide the appropriate strategic and/or tactical solutions
Produce technical documentation suitable for programme leads and team members
Encourage system knowledge continuum by actively contributing to a knowledge-sharing culture and practice
Own problems from first notification through to resolution with an appropriate solution
Proactively identify problem areas and technical debt and escalate where necessary
Support a DevOps approach (wherever possible) to move changes from development to production with a focus on quality
Work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and demonstrate commitment to be part of a successful team
Experience and Qualifications Required
Essential
Excellent understanding of integration architecture and patterns, including: Pub-Sub, event-driven, message queues, ETL
Strong understanding of different API design paradigms like REST, gRPC, SOAP etc.
Knowledge and experience of API management platforms like APIGEE, Mulesoft, Layer7 etc.
Well proven capabilities in designing wide range of enterprise integration patterns
Strong knowledge of cloud architecture
Well proven capabilities in architecting solutions on at least one cloud platforms- AWS / Azure / Google Cloud
Strong knowledge of Microservices, Containers
Proficient with integration security: OAuth, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, HTTPS (TLS), WS-Security, Signatures and Encryption, SAML, HTTP Basic authentication
Experience in designing Identity and access management integration patterns through tools like Okta, Ping, Azure AD etc.
Also Relevant
Knowledge and experience designing and implementing integration patterns using iPaaS tools like Dell Boomi, Mulesoft etc.
Software development experience suitable for guiding/ advising delivery teams
Programming skills in one of the languages:- Java/ Python/NodeJS
Experience in using build tools and source code repository tools such as Git, GitHub, Stash, Maven and Jenkins.
Experience in running containerised solutions on Kubernetes platform
