An Exciting new opportunity for aspiring Teaching Assistants!

WHAT: Trainee Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with behaviour problems and learning difficulties across multiple Key Stage groups (age 4-11)

WHERE: Primary Schools in St Austell and Bodmin

WHEN: After Easter

The demand for school staff is at an all-time high which is why our partner schools have asked us to find them trainee teaching assistants who may not have worked in a school before but possess all the characteristics to be successful. That coupled with constant investment and training is what our Schools are looking for!

The Role:
Based Specialist Schools in Mid Cornwall
Full time Monday to Friday 8.30am – 3pm (Term time only)
February 2022 start ongoing
Support children with learning difficulties, emotional difficulties, academics and well-being
Training provided – safeguarding level 2, team teach, autism awareness

We have seen previous success in the program particularly from candidates with backgrounds in sports, youth work, care, nursing, coaching, drama and personal experience with children. Your personality and attitude is a key factor when choosing the successful trainee teaching assistant. A minimum of core GCSE’s is required.

The job of a teaching assistant is a vital role in education it bridges the gap between teacher and student to digest information, motivate and encourage to fulfil their potential. This teaching assistant role consists of working 1:1 and in small groups with children with either challenging behaviour or special educational needs. You will build a rapport with the child in order to gain their attention and help them focus on the work, aiding their learning. The types of special needs you will be supporting are autism, ADHD, hearing and visual impairment, social and emotional and mental health!

You’ll be joining a large team of teaching assistants that support school’s needs.

Trainee Teaching Assistant:
Must have an enhanced DBS (assistance provided)
A minimum of core GCSE’s
Provide 2 recent references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
