Job Description : About GTIS Monaco
The GTIS Monaco team is in charge of running the Unix & storage Infrastructure for Barclays Monaco. There are more than 100 Linux servers in Monaco and several Storage technologies like Netapp and SAN fabrics managed by our team.
Our key responsibility is supporting the bank’s UNIX and Storage based infrastructure. The core activity consists of dealing with technical issues arising as part of ‘Business as Usual’ activity which includes ensuring that incidents are resolved in a timely fashion and making sure the performance of the systems is satisfying the business needs. We are also taking part in the different Monaco Infrastructure projects. We are also making sure we are compliant with the Bank’s IT Security regulation. Strong processes are enforced against IT security compliance.

Global IaaS teams are expanding their controls around the IT security compliance.

The Monaco GTIS team needs anEngineer expert in UNIX helping us to leverage the ITsec compliance of
the Monaco UNIX and Storage estate to an agile way of working and to better align Monaco to the latest IT group’s standards.

Key Accountabilities

key responsibilities include:

• Improve the ITsec compliance of the Monaco Unix & Storage estate
Participate actively in the remediation and closure of Audit points in due time
Acts as the team leaders deputy
Manage incidents in UNIX environmentImplementation of change within UNIX environmentParticipate in UNIX project work and key strategic deliverablesParticipate in improvement of UNIX management infrastructurePerformance tuning for key servicesJunior UNIX staff mentoring and trainingWorks closely with the Global teams to discuss IT group’s standards and implement them in Geneva
Provide technical advice and expertise to the other Geneva IT teams and projects
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
The role holder must be able to demonstrate leadership during incident management, work under pressure and prioritisation recommendation..
Decision-making and Problem Solving

• Deep understanding of UNIX technologies (Linux/HP-UX/Tru64Unix/AIX)
Knowledge of clustering/high-availability technologies (Veritas Cluster suite)Knowledge of automation technologies (Chef)Strong understanding of storage technologies (Netapp, SAN storage, volume managers)Knowledge of most popular UNIX shells (bash, ksh)Ability to code in one of high-level languages (ruby/python/perl/java)Knowledge of source control systems (SVN)Awareness of virtualization technologies (vmware/OpenStack)
• Knowledge of monitoring systems (Nimbus/Bladelogics)
Knowledge of TCP/IP (VLAN, Port bonding/trunking)General understanding of ITIL (Incident/Change management)Good stakeholder management and communication skillsGood written and spoken English
