Introduction:
Operation Technology Services are seeking a dynamic Senior Java Developer/Lead with experience delivering innovative solutions in close collaboration with the Business.
Reporting to the offshore head for the US Settlements Business, the candidate will play a pivotal role in the execution of the strategy, identifying opportunities to realise the strategic architecture within the constraints of regulatory milestones. The individual will be required to work closely with colleagues across Operation Technology Services (Trade Processing, Operation Data Store and Data Distribution) to ensure the technical solution leverages common components, standard proven patterns and engineering principles.

What will you be doing?
50% – Technical Leadership
Liaising with BA’s and Project Managers for clarity development requirementsCollaborating with business analysts and senior colleagues in order to determine the functional and technical specificationsDeveloping work breakdown structures and detailed estimates, assisting in project planning and related project artefactsHighlight risks and opportunities, planning mitigating actions and documenting them in a logLiaising closely with Dev manager in managing India resource utilizationHands-on involvement with the design of solutionsPerform reviews of technical specifications, code and artifacts produced by the teamOversight of the development team during the implementation of the solutionLiaising closely with the test teams to ensure that QA processes are relevant and thoroughWorking with the release teams to ensure smooth deliveriesReviewing the progress of a project according to its plan, maintaining and reporting status updates to the development manager and stake holdersEnsure processes and practices are followed, documentation is complete, comprehensive and signed off, and defects are tracked & closedHands on development, organize and provide support during SIT, QA and UAT test phasesProvide technical expertise on Java 1.8, Spring, Spring Integration, AWS, Scala and Cloudera Hadoop
40% – Implementation of Strategy for US Settlements Area
Understand the current state v/s strategic state for US Settlements IT area.Work closely with the US Leads as well as the Offshore teams for the implementation for the strategyConsolidate similar functionalities across different applications into the strategic platforms and decommission the legacy ones.Decommission legacy technologies and migrate to more recent Java and Cloud based platforms.Lead the build and development of the Exception manager application from the offshore team
10% – Release and Tier 3 Support
Ensure release plans and coordinating release walkthroughs with the environment managers and RTB teamsActing as a escalation point of contact for support team, investigating and resolving issues found in productionProviding on-call support for releases where necessaryEnsure requests from the RTB support team is promptly respondedHandle technical issues that are out of scope for the support staff.
What we’re looking for:
A degree in engineering, computer science or a quantitative discipline e.g. statistics, physics or mathematics preferred.Extensive years of total work experience in a relevant IT industry, of which reevant years experience as a tech leadExtensive years experience of core java, server-side multi-threaded java using a industry standard framework such as Spring Framework, Spring Events, Spring IntegrationRelevant years experience of Scala / Big dataRelevant years exposure to one of more of HDFS, HBase, Impala, Hive, Avro, Oozie, Spark and SolrRelevant years experience in database Oracle, SQL ServerAnalytical skills; ability to investigate and resolve issues in a high-pressured environmentStrong ability to analyze data; attention to detail and good quantitative ability.Strong verbal and written communication skills with a good command over English and ability to explain complex technical and functional topics in simple terms over the phone.Positive team playerA highly-motivated individual; confident, proactive, enthusiastic, willing to learn and use initiative.Played the lead role in an investment bankRelevant years of Investment Banking Experience
