Job Description : Position Overview:
We are hiring a VP of Finance to work with our CEO and COO on new business opportunity evaluation and modeling, management of financial statements and reporting, management of daily finance operations with operations and department leads. An ideal candidate has experience in independent management of a business unit’s P&L and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Produce financial statements consolidation and reporting to guide decision making
Design internal accounting tools to capture expenses
Design dashboard for internal decision making
Conduct annual budgeting exercise with different department heads, including manpower and resources
Ensure efficient financial processes within different business units and geographical locations related to inventory, payroll, billing, and compliance
Work with Medical advisors, CEO, and COO to advise on strategy
Create financial models for new business lines and projects
Liaise with financial auditors and investors
Create recommendations to improve cashflow
Assist CEO in creating quarterly reports for the board and investors

Experience Required:
Financial controller of a business unit
Experience in start-up or academic environment (preferred)

Education Qualification:
Finance or business

About Nalagenetics
Nalagenetics is a medical technology company focusing on personalized screening and intervention. Nalagenetics aims to provide an affordable and actionable end-to-end genetic testing that is relevant to the local populations. The company has four product pillars: Clinical Decision Support for physicians, genetic tests (currently based on qPCR), Knowledge Base and algorithms to generate clinically actionable reports, and Patient Engagement.
Our first application is pre-emptive pharmacogenomics in outpatient settings. We created Nala PGx Core, a qPCR-based assay targeting 20 of the most common pharmacogenomic variants, and Nala Clinical Decision Support, a cloud-based portal for physicians to manage their tested patient populations, and Nala Personal Health Manager, a mobile app to record response, remission, relapse, adverse drug reactions, and adherence.
We launched our flagship service in pharmacogenomics for hospitals as Lab Developed Tests (LDT) in collaboration with POLARIS and Atma Jaya University in Singapore and Indonesia respectively in 2020, targeting 160+ cardiovascular, psychiatry, pain, and other chronic medications. We expect to expand into Malaysia, Thailand, and Europe in the next year via CE-IVD certification of our Clinical Decision Support system. We were incubated at Harvard’s Venture Incubation Program and Harvard Business School’s Rock Accelerator and Summer Fellowship, and accepted in Techstars NY.
Nalagenetics is mission-driven: two of our co-founders have seen first-hand adverse reaction through close family members- that experience taught us advanced innovations are in pharma and biotech would not mean much without knowing how to best apply it to our population.
