Job Description : The Company
Household financial services organisation are seeking an application security professional to assist in the maturing of the app sec program during a time of heavy transformation.
This will be done though process improvements, SecDevOps, managing security champions and their program of work, training & awareness programs.
The Role
This role would suit someone with clear passion and enthusiasm for cyber and the app sec environment.
Ideally you will have a rich development background and have a history of working as a security champion with development teams.
The organisation is willing to consider candidates who are either fully fledged application security professionals or professionals coming from a development role who have good knowledge of security and want to move into the space full time. i.e. You have worked as your teams security champion and performed security code reviews etc
This organisation is willing to spend the time to upskill you if in the latter group.
You will then have the opportunity to heavily influence this large organisation application security direction.
At a high level your days would involve:
Review application, design, and code to ensure development teams are following the organisations app sec standards
Improve and build on the software assurance practises and tools
Identify and assess vulnerabilities and control deficiencies
Define and deliver training programs to uplift the capability of developers
Driving key activities to improve the resilience of the organisations developer software and reduce the overhead of remediation of issues
About You
Demonstrated experience with application security practices and tools
Understanding of OWASP controls and methodologies
Strong communicator with exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to speak to non-technical stakeholders about cyber security issues in a simple and consistent manner
Proficient in working within an agile environment
Penetration testing experience highly desirable
Software/web development experience highly desirable
Certifications such as your OSCP would be highly regarded.
Salary between – $140k – $170k + Super (depending on experience)
Training – 3 hours per week that you can spend on training
Certifications – The organisation will help you achieve certs such as OSCP etc
Location – Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne but open to other locations
