Ongoing training and development will be provided to earn whilst you learn.As an Application Support Engineer you will be responsible for providing support on software development and collaboration tools (Atlassian) for external customers and occasionally for internal IT systems. In addition, you will work with cloud services to deploy and maintain internal and customer hosted environments. This work will be delivered through day-to-day tickets via a Service Desk, and on rare occasions – via telephone.Duties / ResponsibilitiesReport to, and work under the guidance of, the IT Operations ManagerAnswering customer support questions via service desk tools and on occasion via telephone following ITIL framework.Provide proactive support for our customer systems via monitoring.Deploy, maintain, patch and support cloud hosted environmentsAssist the Sales and Customer success teams with technical questionsTake responsibility for ensuring SLAs are metCreate documentation and maintain a technical knowledgebaseAssist with general system administrationAssist internal IT with desktop support and onboardingTroubleshooting and analyzing application issuesRun small and large projects with ITWork out of hours as part of a 24/7/365 on-call rota (once fully trained)Contribute to community questions within the Atlassian ecosystemEssential Skills/Experience2-3 years experience in a previous role, providing 1st or 2nd Level Technical Support in a customer-facing environmentGood understanding of Linux and Windows operating systemsUnderstanding of networking and virtual machines.Basic terminal/command line knowledgeExperience with web applicationsDesired Skills/ExperienceStrong expertise in Linux based operating systemsKnowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Crowd)Previous experience in an ITIL based Service DeskExperience with cloud services e.g. AWSGitlab administrationExperience in supporting SaaS productsPerson Specification: -Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well under pressureGood analytical skills with an eye for detailA solid team playerMotivated to learn new technologiesHold a passion for ITSteer and control customer conversationsRemunerationCompetitive salary depending on experience, paid gross per annum, plus benefits including; pension plan, life insurance, fully comprehensive health care plan and discounted gym membership, cycle to work scheme, car salary sacrifice scheme, paid ‘volunteer’ days, annual equipment allowance, free books, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, paid medical injections (influenza, pneumonia, Strep B), buy-back holiday plan, flexible working hours and when in the office; free parking, free breakfast & lunch, casual office dress code and more.LocationHybrid-working (mix of onsite and remote) with weekly visits to Clearvision’s UK Southampton office.
