Job Description : Following internal promotions, we are pleased to be recruiting for an enthusiastic individual to join the Finance Team at our head office in Cowley on a 12 month temporary contract. This role would suit an AAT qualified individual, or L4 AAT studier.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing period end accounting processes for fuel, tyres, and insurance claims, and associated balance sheet reconciliations and for ensuring a high level of financial control is exercised over these areas. The role will also take ownership for completing monthly VAT and ONS returns, and for supporting the wider Finance Team through assisting in other financial and management accounting processes.The key responsibilities of this role include:· Control accounting for fuel, ensuring all deliveries are accurately accounted for, invoices from suppliers are in line with contractual terms, hedge price submissions are calculated correctly, and associated duty rebates are correctly calculated and accrued for in the accounts.· Control accounting for tyres with our onsite contractor Michelin and ensure that mileage returns are produced accurately and in a timely fashion. Reconcile invoices received to mileage returns submitted and ensure that accruals are accurately calculated and that budget variances can be explained.· Control accounting for insurance claims and ensure that accruals and prepayments posted are accurately calculated.· Calculate the monthly VAT return to HMRC for review by the Financial Controller.· Complete balance sheet reconciliations for specific revenue streams and investigate and resolve variances as required.· Support the wider finance team in responding to audit queries from both internal and external auditors.· Assist the financial accounts team with calculation and posting of monthly accruals, prepayments and other period end journals.To be successful in this role, you must be able to communicate with colleagues at all levels, be a positive, self-motivated and driven character with a clear desire to succeed and have a professional presence.
