Job Description : Assistant Management Accountant (Ref: 91977)
Part Time – 30 hours per week
Fixed term Maternity Cover until 30th June 2023
Band 4
Salary Range £23,709 – £25,982 pro rata per annum
Distant Island Allowance of £1,971 per annum (pro rata for part-time and fixed term positions).
The Management Accounting Team are part of the Boards Finance Department, which includes Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Purchasing and Stores and Patient Travel. The Finance Department is responsible for delivering financial services to all Board areas.
This post will support and assist the Senior Management Accountants and the Senior Finance Team in their broad duties of ensuring financial controls are in place to deliver organisational financial reporting requirements such as all aspects of budget monitoring, the completion of statutory returns, service delivery costing, payments and financial administration processes relating to the health board. In doing so the post holder will also ensure that financial information is processed in accordance with recognised procedures, in order to provide information for monthly reporting and monitoring, through completion of own work and through working in partnership with others. The post holder will also investigate financial enquiries of varying complexity, and will provide accurate information, support and advice where required and ensure that this work is completed in prescribed timescales set to meet various internal financial deadlines and external deadlines.
Educated to SVQ Level 4/AAT qualified (or equivalent). The post holder will have a complete understanding of the principles of Financial Management and a comprehensive knowledge of computer based financial information systems. The post holder will also have to work accurately under pressure and be able to meet the fixed deadlines operated by the department and display good oral and written communication skills.
This contract is fixed term until 30th June 2023 to provide maternity cover. If you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss with your line manager before submitting an application.
