This role underpins the BI & data platforms, applications, data and process integration delivery functions by providing support services and platform life cycle management. Works with preferred third-party suppliers to provide strategic and innovative technology solutions aligned with AstraZeneca business needs as well as regulatory requirements

Works closely with Customers and Internal Stakeholders to address issues and ensure that objectives remain aligned to the business plans
Ensures Application development lifecycle maintenance needs are identified and managed
Maintains awareness and knowledge of industry trends and proactively identifies and drives identification of opportunities to be demonstrated in Data engineering services and solutions
Provides technical expertise, direction and support to engineers, architects, and project managers
Leads efforts to ensure that modified solutions interact appropriately, areas of impact are considered and addressed and meet performance requirements
Plans all activities associated with implementation and maintenance of solutions
Learn, evaluate and conduct proof of concepts on new technologies as they emerge and that are pertaining to AZ environment
Serve as the key technical resource for the team providing advice, training and technical support for various project initiatives and day to day operations
Candidate Knowledge, Skills & Experience
3 ~ 6 years of progressive Application development experience in the ETL & Data engineering space
Engaged in e2e lifecycle activities of an ETL & Data engineering application Architecture, Design, Build, Test & Maintenance
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
Any stream of engineering Bachelor’s degree
Good listening, presentation, communication & stakeholder management skills
Good analytical & logical reasoning ability
Good knowledge and experience working with RDBMS, ETL, Data integration & Data engineering solutions
Good understanding of Cloud & Big Data Concepts & AWS Services
Experience working in a global organization where partners and project team members are geographically dispersed
Desirable
Exposure to ETL & data engineering platforms system administration, governance and application maintenance
Exposure to ETL & data engineering platforms monitoring tools
Exposure to Configuration Management & Automation Tools
Understanding of Pharmaceutical Business process & data models
Understanding of ITIL / SOx / GxP processes
Good exposure e2e Software Lifecycle management & Service delivery
Other
Must have significant experience of working in a multi partner scenario and a cross-culture environment
Understanding of business processes in the life sciences / pharmaceutical domain
Should have experience in a validated environment and aware of GxP & SOx requirements
Must have good knowledge of Change, Release, Incident and Problem Management processes
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Well versed in English, excellent spoken and written skills
Proactive approach to problem solving
Able to grasp and understand new technological trends & concepts
Experience working in a globally distributed team
