Job Description : We’re Simply Business
We insure small businesses and enable big dreams – not just for our customers, but for our people and communities too. With over 850,000 active insurance policies, we protect builders, bakers, landlords, and more than 1,000 other trades.
We harness cutting-edge data ability, believe in experimentation, and build our own technology to deliver better experiences for our customers and employees. This means we’re as much a technology company as one that sells insurance. We build, we fail, we learn, we improve. We’re a B Corp too, which recognises our strong track record of having a positive impact on people, society and the environment.
If Simply Business sounds like the kind of place you’ll thrive, we’d love to hear from you
We’re looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our Product team in our London Hub

working with the Head of Product in your domain, mixing a broad understanding of customer problems and opportunities, as well as helping to ensure the core delivery success for the product group
working with other product managers, and the customer experience and data analysis experts in the product group, to understand what lies beneath our data on the customer lifecycle
working with the key business stakeholders, collaborating on defining the larger product opportunities while prioritising and tracking the quicker wins
working with stakeholders from around the business, such as marketing, insurance product, operations and finance, identifying opportunities, communicating and explaining changes, and prioritising requests
becoming an expert in the overall online and offline experience for our customers, building the ability to see how given problems and opportunities play out on both customer facing applications and internal backoffice tooling
A few more details about the role:
working with stakeholders across the company to ensure an understanding of the business landscape for policyholders, and to validate and prioritise opportunities for delivery appropriately, tracking and reporting on their progress
explaining to the product and engineering teams the business needs from our group, and why we are delivering changes at the point we are, based on an understanding of the market, competitors, data, and our customer and internal operational needs
writing user stories and acceptance criteria, breaking down delivery into small, trackable chunks and delivering value as early as possible
ensuring internal and external stakeholders are kept up to date with regular updates and clear communications on the progress of initiatives that support the delivery of the overarching product group strategy
working closely with engineers to ensure we deliver work in an efficient, cost-effective manner, whilst embracing ambiguity and developing a good technical understanding
reviewing and signing-off changes before deployment and ensuring that all production changes meet our obligations to external partners, and any predetermined timings
We’re looking for someone who is:
able to show humility, empathy and a bias to action, who is comfortable with ambiguity and excited to learn
understanding of product principles, agile methodology and lean philosophy
collaborative in the way they solve problems, getting the most out of team members and business partners
strong in communication and interpersonal skills, with a history of stakeholder management and decision making
resilient and driven to deliver outcomes over output, maintaining a focus on the customer at all times
a critical thinker, with the ability to gather, process, and simplify complex information
proactive at risk elimination, looking after our business and partners, to aid prioritisation
interested and competent in data, experimentation and the build-measure-learn (BML) cycle
respectful, fair and trustworthy, passionate, compassionate and collaborative
appreciative of the complexity and power of software engineering, and able to weigh costs against the value
