The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Your responsibilities
Creation of project-specific H&S plans and risk assessments.
Independent handling of small and medium-sized projects.
Supervision of the assigned field staff for the duration of the project, creation of assembly schedules considering the available and necessary resources (consumables, tools and employees) and monitoring and documenting project progress and costs including reporting.
Responsible for the adherence to deadlines and costs of the assigned projects, as well as timely maintenance of sales forecasts including reporting.
Responsible for compliance with the safety regulations and the necessary quality assurance measures
Responsible for minimizing project costs and risks as well as for the process-oriented processing of deviation reports during the work on site, including the initiation of appropriate corrective measures
Contact person for internal and external customers in relation to the project.
Compilation, filing and archiving of the project documentation such as Red Mark, test protocols, reports, etc. for “As Built” creation.
Compilation of project expenses as well as billing to the customer.
Maintenance of the “Classification Details” after the service has been completed.
Closely work with product technical teams to investigate root cause of technical problems to clearly distinguish problems related to Hitachi Energy and problem caused by customer / site execution team.
Order new / missing material in SAP with correct technical specification and release for purchase.

Your background
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in GIS installation management or any product project management (PM) or Installation & commissioning with PM experience.
Sound knowledge of working with MS office tools (Word, Power point, Excel and MS project.) and SAP.
Experience in engaging with multiple teams to gather project data for planning and reporting.
Good knowledge on site HSE requirements.
Experience in handling multiple projects.
English: fluent in speaking and writing.
