We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AVP.

Role Title: AVP- Decision Sciences
Location: Bangalore

Analytics Decision Sciences team is responsible for handling projects to support the modeling forecasting needs within the financial services portfolios for a large global bank across one or more geographical regions
The work would primarily involve use of customer/operational data and application of statistical tools and techniques to achieve following
Basel modelling activities for HSBC ASP WPB Risk analytics team
Support ongoing development or enhancements of the Basel models to ensure compliance with regulatory as well as business requirements
Support the internal and regulatory review of Basel models
Basel Model Development team is responsible for development/calibration of Basel models as per the internal and regulatory guidelines. The team ensures compliance to standards per Regulators, Credit FIM (i.e. Functional Instruction manual), IMR (Independent Model Review) and internal audit. The team is also responsible for obtaining sign-offs for the models, obtain regulatory approvals and implement the models. The team is also responsible for addressing any adhoc regulatory assessments and gap analysis.
What you’ll do:
Act as Subject Matter Expert in Basel Analytics domain independently leading projects and working directly with business and stakeholders to deliver high quality output.
Responsible for end-to-end development of AIRB Basel models for the estimation of PD, LGD, EAD parameters. Calculate RWA, EL and capital impacts.
Work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously and deliver in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
Support and complete the review of the models by IMR, Audit and Regulators with timely closure of gaps in the model
Carry out sensitivity analysis for various business actions/strategies.
Reporting for Basel parameters as and when required.
Prepare model documentation with high quality and clear explanation of all analysis conducted.
Responsible for project management. Monitoring and review of projects with stakeholders to ensure that all stated SLAs are met.
Recruit, on-board, train, coach and develop talent.
Drive initiatives which ensure higher efficiency (automation, training manual, white paper etc.).
Responsible for conceptualizing, designing and implementing QA/QC framework for identified processes and ensures adherence and constant improvement.
Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit and IMR comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
4-year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed University with concentration on marketing, finance, economics or other quantitative field such as statistics or engineering.
Strong analytical skills with 6+ years of proven business analysis experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred.
Extensive knowledge on regulatory guidelines (PRA, HKMA) would be preferred
Good knowledge and hands on experience of Model Development or Model Monitoring.
Thorough understanding of retail banking along with project management skills
Experience on model monitoring projects and Basel models such that they can be presented to various review functions and external parties.
Ownership of Basel Model Lifecycle.
Hands-on working knowledge of SAS. Basic knowledge on Python or other equivalent analytical tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success

Exposure to Python would be an added advantage
