Introduction:
The purpose of the Barclays CBE Credit Management team is to:
Support and lead the development, tracking and review of business strategies, financial plans and operational performance within the Board approved Risk AppetiteSupport and lead the development and maintenance of policies, standards, procedures and controls for FLoD credit management activities as per the ERMF and associated RMFSupport and lead the development and maintenance of customer underwriting strategies across products and channels consistent with policy, standard and governance requirementsMonitor financial, operational and portfolio performance controls to achieve Risk Return objectives within defined threshold; tracking performance relative to expectation, YoY, forecast, plan and industry benchmarksImplement mitigation activities to prevent or remediate a breach of Risk Appetite and / or Risk Return objectivesParticipate in Credit Management Fora preparing appropriate materials to meet expectations and deliverables for which FLoD are responsibleOversee collections, fraud and operations activities related to credit decision lifecycleCollaborate with cross functional areas in the analytical solutions for impairment, model and PnL analytical solutionsSupport and lead model management activities for all linked models relevant to the credit lifecycle from model development to model ownershipDevelop data, analytics and financial assets, capabilities, products and services to support the analytical advancement in data driven solutions and the culture of high performance
What will you be doing?
Providing best in class analytics, transforming high level requests into focussed and specific analysisResponsible for monthly BAU reporting and control activityWorking effectively with peers and management team to achieve shared business objectivesPresenting and communicating results to Senior Management and driving stakeholder discussionsIdentifying new opportunities for enhancing/streamlining servicesFormulating opportunities into proposals, sharing with the manager and implementingMaintenance of credit criteria, models and strategiesMaintenance of control monitoring and documentation of processes, procedures and strategies in relation to credit management
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree in an empirical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Economics, Maths, Physics, etc.)Working knowledge of consumer financial productsWorking knowledge and experience of credit risk management in consumer lending gained at a Bank or Financial InstitutionWorking knowledge in the interpretation and application of Credit Risk policiesComprehensive knowledge and effective use of analytical tools including SQL and SAS. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointStrong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills with ability to translate insight into a coherent storyAbility to generate insights from data, assess the commercial / financial impact and recommend action, to find innovative ways to solve analytical problems and the ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlinesStrong attention to detail, and a real commitment to delivering high quality outputs which are right first time
