Job Description : Key Responsibilities:
Design, build and maintain new backend services providing high-performance, high-availability APIs.
Create new services and extend existing services in our large scale microservices and SOA architecture
Own and drive business features into tech requirements
Conduct unit, functional, integration, and other forms of automated testing
Help us meet aggressive performance and scalability goals keeping us ahead of dramatic growth in the space
Fully participate in the ownership of your services and components, including on-call duties
Create documentation to enable self service
Internal customer outreach, advocacy, and support
Interact directly with client project team members and operational staff
Help to ensure good engineering practices are adopted and used within the team
Mentor and develop junior developers in the team
Requirements:
5 years of web backend development experience
2 years minimum experience in Scala programming and Play framework (MVC, Webservices, etc.)
Experience in Microservices architecture and patterns
Must be clear with functional programming concepts and asynchronous programming in Scala
Prior experience on building a scalable and resilient micro service
Solid understanding of relational databases, NoSQL databases and Caching systems
Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms
Exposure to Jenkins and cicd process
Exposure to Container technologies (dockers, kubernetes, etc.)
Experience working on Agile teams
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Exposure to Cloud technologies using GCP/AWP/Azure is a plus
Experience in Reactive Systems (Akka, RxJava, or similar) is a plus
Experience level: 5+ years
