Job Description : The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
ResponsibilitiesSelecting and integrating any Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilitiesImplementing ETL process using Spark/PysparkMonitoring performance and advising any necessary infrastructure changesDefining data retention policies
Skills and QualificationsProficient understanding of distributed computing principlesProficiency with Hadoop v2, MapReduce, HDFS,Pyspark,SparkExperience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Storm or Spark-StreamingGood knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and ImpalaExperience with SparkExperience with integration of data from multiple data sourcesExperience with NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, MongoDBKnowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks, such as FlumeExperience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQExperience with Big Data ML toolkits, such as Mahout, SparkML, or H2OGood understanding of Lambda Architecture, along with its advantages and drawbacksExperience with Cloudera/MapR/Hortonworks
Qualifications:
3 -5 years of relevant experience
Experience in programming/debugging used in business applications
Working knowledge of industry practice and standards
Comprehensive knowledge of specific business area for application development
Working knowledge of program languages
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
