Job Description : 3+ years relevant experience in financial/business analysis

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
3+ years of analysis experience required in data science, business analytics, or comparable experience in other big data environments.
Strong proficiency in SQL, Data modeling and ETL using non-relational sources (like Hadoop, EMR), and relational databases (like Redshift, Oracle)
Excellent written and oral communication skills including an ability to communicate with all cross functional teams (technical and business)
Experience driving small to medium sized projects
Candidates must be flexible with working schedule (i.e. possible weekends, late shift, on-call etc.). Should be open to a 24/7 work environment

Job summary
The Kindle Content Risk Management team is looking for a highly driven, customer-obsessed Business Analyst who will be responsible for supporting strategic, risk mitigation programs. The Business Analyst will be responsible for complex analysis using multiple data sources while also understanding the operational, financial, and technical aspects of the programs they are supporting and the associated risk profiles they represent. You’ll analyze large amounts of data, discover and solve real world problems, build metrics and business cases around key Kindle projects and, most of all, be an integral part of creating a better customer experience.

You have to be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail and passion for data, and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. It’s a big ask, and we’re excited to talk to those up to the challenge!

Key job responsibilities

Retrieving and analyzing data using SQL, Excel, and other data management systems.
Reactively and proactively developing and executing analyses that provide important insight into the business.
Designing and implementing data engineering and self-service reporting solutions that enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
Monitoring existing metrics and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done; developing functional requirements to create new tools or refine existing ones, with a focus on transaction automation.
Ability to develop business cases with policy and/or implementation recommendations to handle new risks, including scaling with software.
A creative and analytical mind that thrives in a data-driven environment
