Fathom’s Cloud Platform team manages the cloud infrastructure that powers our product. We have a strong DevOps culture with a focus on bringing together the right people, process and tools to enable our team to deliver continuous value to our customers. We are seeking an experienced Azure Network Engineer to strengthen our team of talented developers and engineers. You will be a key member of the Cloud Platform team, with a diverse set of responsibilities including network architecture and design, cloud network management, security and management of our Fortinet Firewalls.
The broader Fathom team includes developers, engineers and designers who are recognised as leading practitioners in their respective crafts. This is an opportunity to join them and influence the quality, value and architecture of a modern web application.
What you’ll be doing:
Your work will vary from week-to-week, but could include:
Management of our cloud networking infrastructure hosted in Microsoft Azure. Including Virtual Networks, VNet Peering, Private Endpoints and Network Security Groups.
Management of all cloud firewall’s including Fortigate and Application Gateway.
Improving our monitoring and reporting capability, specifically Azure Sentinel and FortiAnalyzer.
Managing operational security. Ie. Manage SSL certificates, vulnerability scanning, network security, operational logging & third-party penetration testing.
Review and update configuration of security policies in Microsoft Azure Defender.
Detailed documentation and change management. Including detailed documentation of all aspects of our network and security platform.
Continually improve the cloud networking infrastructure required to support the product. This will include planning and design, detailed documentation, implementation and infrastructure automation.
Assist in reviewing and resolving security incidents when required.
Work closely with Cloud Platform Engineers including mentoring and skills development.
What we’re looking for:
Required: Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure’s networking components.

Required: Experience with Fortinet Firewalls.
Experience with Application Gateway.
Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices and tools.
Experience with broader networking technologies including DNS, TLS, WAN, Site-to-Site VPN.

Microsoft certifications such as ‘Azure Network Engineer Associate’ or ‘Azure Administrator Associate’ highly regarded. Applicants must be willing to achieve the ‘Azure Network Engineer Associate’ within 1 year.
A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines is helpful but not required.
