Ensure efficacy of internal communications at Applied Materials India and effectively drive employer branding and our unique work culture within the organization.
Roles and Responsibility
Internal Communications
Ensure timely and effective internal communications, in keeping with Applied Materials brand image and strategy and drive effective culture building
Support the internal communication process and ensure organization’s priorities and goals are communicated effectively across Applied Materials in India
Manage, coordinate and execute events and support Chennai & Mumbai offices to drive initiatives that positively impact our employees and reinforces our VMV
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders – Leadership, Businesses, Corporate Social Responsibility team, Human Resources and Finance – to align internal communications to their requirements and drive them across the organization
Develop and maintain internal channels of communication such as the organization’s intranet and ensure effective two-way communications using technology or other mediums
Ensure the standard operating procedures for internal communications are maintained and followed to ensure the quality, efficacy and impact of all internal communications
Work closely with internal talent and external agencies to drive internal communication campaigns across Applied Materials & key universities in India
Create and commission content, including video, photography, presentation material and infographics in line with the brand
Proactively advise internal teams on communication and support the development of communications capability within the team and wider stakeholder network
Support the continuous improvement of communications by seeking and responding to feedback and adjusting communications content accordingly
Manage /drive corporate employee communication tools – executive messaging, online communications, e-mails, printed publications, videos, webcasts, quarterly State of the Business, Intranet, senior executive employee/communication meetings
Support community and corporate philanthropy efforts in India
Support relevant Community programs/projects to meet overall communications objectives
Drive and support employee participation in community work
Our Ideal Candidate
Is proactive
Has strong writing, editing skills
Background in writing for publications, blogs
Proven project management skills, as well facilitation and negotiation
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to think creatively and out of the box
Ability to conceptualize and drive CSR/internal comms activities
Ability to motivate employees in participating in pre-planned activities
Ability to foster good working relations with the leadership
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and to cope with pressure
Independent and thorough method of working as well as high level of motivation, flexibility and creativity
Passion for team work as well as ability to coordinate independently
Qualifications
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mass Communication / Journalism, with emphasis on strong communications skills (both written and verbal) and solid understanding of business.
Five+ years direct experience in a Communications role in Business-to-Business environment, High-Tech industry, public relations agency, or other corporate public relations or internal communications teams conducting communications programs;
Strong experience and demonstrated results in creating programs related to internal communications
Basic design skills – Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Illustrator
Additional Requirements:
Fluent in both written and spoken English
Experience in internal communications is very important
Should have experience in creating visuals/AV/films/corporate videos and other internal branding material
Up to date with latest communication tools especially social media
Experienced in developing communication strategies & key messages aligned with business priorities
