Job Description : The CIB and Firm-wide Market Risk Control Management team is seeking an Associate to provide support on the day-to-day controls agenda, drive changes through finding improvements in operational efficiency when supporting executive decision making and regulatory mandates. The role will liaison with functions within and outside of Market Risk, as well as our Risk Controls partners. The successful candidate will be a team player, analytical, and have strong attention to detail. As a Control Manager Associate, you’ll be responsible for supporting and enhancing the control framework which supports a continuous and integrated approach to risk assessment. Additionally, you will assist the team in top down risk analysis, real time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis and remediation.
Role Responsibilities:

Support the team in creating a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
Assist the senior members of the team collate and review control program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) to support business-related programs and strategies
Support the developing of content and agenda for monthly Market Risk Controls Sub Committee and investigation of control issues
Engage with various control functions across the firm, business, operations management, compliance, risk management, and technology to document current process flows, gaps and enhancements
Support the team in issue and action plan management (regulatory, audit and business identified issues)
Provide assistance on controls related projects such as enhancing the firmwide Control and Operational Risk Evaluation system and other initiatives
Manage monthly and quarterly deliverables and ad-hoc requests related to User tools, Models, and Intelligent Solutions, and support related governance programs.
Perform analysis to review controls and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies / effectiveness and support testing team in control evaluation, walkthroughs.
Remain updated on Market Risk Management related policies and procedures and advise necessary changes in the processes, risks and controls.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
6+ years experience in financial services preferably in the Risk, Compliance, Audit or Controls environment
Working knowledge of key Market Risk measures and end-to-end trading cycle is desirable.
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills – Project management experience is a plus.
Process re-engineering experience – strong efficiency and control mindset
Understanding of various Regulatory Market Risk Rules, such as Basel, Volcker, CCAR, and FRTB framework
Excellent written and verbal communications
A high-level of attention to detail and quality assurance.
Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and commitment to deliver under tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships with individuals at all levels including senior management.
Proficient in MS Word, MS Power Point and Excel
Experience with other software packages is a plus (e.g., SharePoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, MS Access, and MS Project)
