What Will I Be Doing?

As part of this leadership role, the Cross Market Supply Chain Sustainability Specialist you will drive business development activities, further strengthen our consulting & services practice, drive effective business relationships with our key clients’ management teams and influence the overall success of IBM Consulting Supply Chain offerings across the industry sectors.

As the Cross Market Supply Chain Sustainability Specialist you will be responsible for the building of teams, and the identification, qualification and progression of existing and new sustainability focused IBM solutions.

You will be able to hit the ground running as a confident and professional communicator who prides themselves on helping clients realise their objectives for sustainability.

You will understand how the full range of our supply chain offerings can drive sustainability and release value.

I will exhibit the following key skills:
Proven track record in building & leading practice, business development and demonstrating end to end success from identification to closure
Strong skills in analysing client supply chains to identify opportunities to improve sustainability and building value propositions across end to end supply chain functions
Ability to articulate the solution to the client in line with their objectives
Strong communication skills
Proven track record of managing client relationships
Willingness to take accountability and drive outcomes
Industry experience preferably in knowledge of Sustainability, Circular Economy, Emissions Management and Reporting as well as Supply Chain & Procurement – understanding of the key issues, processes, technologies across industry sectors

What Will I Be Responsible For?
Identifying and packaging offerings tailored to client/industry
Originating and progressing opportunities
Connecting client focused teams with offering solutioning and delivery capabilities
Brainstorming and identifying creative ways in which the company can balance business obligations with the goal of respecting, supporting, and improving the local and global environments via their Procurement and Supply Chain functions
Proposing and implementing strategies to address various environmental concerns including energy use, emissions reduction, circular economy, reducing waste, increasing material use efficiency, conservation, reduction of pollution, recycling, building and facility design, and general education on sustainability.
Developing business cases articulating the value that can be released through sustainability projects and programs.
Advising clients and helping to implement sustainable organizational policies that address environmental concerns in the supply chain
Advising clients on environmental risks in their upstream supply chains and strategies to manage and mitigate those risks.
Assisting clients around the use of technology to capture and analyse environmental data and meet statutory reporting obligations.
Evaluating efficacy of sustainability programs; recommending and implementing improvements as necessary
Conducting research to identifying environmental and sustainability concerns, interests, and issues.

REQUIRED Professional and Technical Expertise
Mature Leadership profile with 12+ years of Consulting experience in Supply Chain & Procurement
At least 7 years in a business consulting firm with experience identifying opportunities, building value propositions, and closing the opportunity.
Experience in developing Supply Chain Sustainability Strategy, and implementing sustainable processes and solutions for clients
Consistent and proven capabilities in driving Sales/Business Development in large and complex deals.
Has understanding of project funding for various environmental initiatives including proposals and grant applications.
Maintains current working knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, all applicable local, state, federal, and internal environmental laws and regulations.
Proven ability to communicate effectively at the executive level
Demonstrated people management ability to lead and mentor staff of all levels
Demonstrated business acumen including superior negotiation skills and contract/profit management
Willing and able to travel as required
Deep Relationship Propensity – Worked with Client in a consulting relationship – driven behaviours

PREFERRED Professional and Technical Expertise
Market Eminence, developing Subject Matter Expertise. Personal Social and Digital Eminence. Published papers or Thought leadership profile
Has worked in international environment and across multiple geographies, leading cross cultural global teams
Knowledge of Sustainability solutions such as Envizi and Resilinc
