2). Hands on Experience in Protection relay testing for AVR, Generator, Power Transformer.
3). Relay Coordination, system study & settings.

Part II JOB DESCRIPTION

Engineer – Gen., Aux. & Power Trans.

Purpose of the Position
(Why the job exists in the company & the expected outcome)
Commissioning and maintenance of Generator and Gen auxiliaries, Stator water cooling system, seal oil system, gas system, alkalizer system, Power Transformer, AVR(static excitation system).
Commissioning & troubleshooting of protection relays & schemes for Generator, AVR for all Five units as a primary responsibility & extend support for all jobs concerning to BTG area.

Principle Accountabilities
(Strategic, Operational, Financial, People development & growth etc.)
1. Organizing & Monitoring Maintenance as per plan.
2. Identifying Spares requirements.
3. Identify and Implement best practices
4. Identifying System Improvement through innovative ideas & best practices.
5. Implement work practises.

Role & Responsibilities
Monitor & control PM, RM, CBM, break down maintenance of Generator & Generator Auxiliaries, Relay Protection System & Power Transformer.
Perform relay co-ordination.
Day to day job planning. Job scheduling, job allocation & follow up.
Plan outage works. Timely completion of Job.
Apply day to day permit & fill required details in sap.
Comply statutory requirement.
Prepare major job reports & protocols.
Budget Planning & Inventory Management.
Monitor and execution of Annual overhaul maintenance
Monitor and execution of Annual overhaul maintenance
Interface with other departments to achieve set plant goals
Practice & implement Safety measures for departmental staff to achieve zero
accidents goal.
Monitor contractor’s works to perform timely & quality work.
Carrying out job safety & risk assessment for all types of jobs.
Preparation of job specific JSA.
Keep availability of calibrated testing equipment’s at electrical lab.

Experience in operation & maintenance of power plant protection systems from point of view of troubleshooting & required power equipment testing.

Most important contribution and outcome needed from the position through KRAs
1. Optimise equipment availability.
2. Practice & implement safety.
3. Identify areas of system improvement & modifications and its implementation.
4. To bring the forced outage zero, due to failure in Generator auxiliaries, 5. Reduce the failure of an equipment/system by proper enabling protection and co-ordination among the up streams and down streams.
