We are seeking an Engineer to join our Marketing, Big Data and Business Intelligence Technology organization. You will be part of a 24×7 SRE support organization, with a focus on performance of our business applications and our customer’s experience with a technology lens. You will be encouraged to provide ideas for process improvements, automation opportunities and help determine meaningful actions to ensure we are detecting and preventing impacts to our customers before they occur.
Up to 5 years of software development and Production support experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or proven background in technology and equivalent experience.
Mandatory production support Experience in 24/7 enterprise environment.
Hands On expertise on Unix Shell and Perl scripting, Informatica and .Net.
Strong knowledge on Mainframe and DB2.
Strong exposure to Control-m, Splunk, Dynatrace monitoring tools.
Exposure to object-oriented language like Java, Python, Big Data etc.,
Exposure to public and private clouds. Practical exposure to ePaaS environment (cloud).
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Netezza, DB2, Mysql, Oracle, Postgre and Yellowbrick).
Well versed with problem and incident management processes with tools like Service Now.
Willingness to learn new technologies and use them to their optimal potential, including substantiated ability to innovate and take pride in quickly deploying working software.
Responsible for availability, proactive monitoring / alerting, capacity planning, performance (reducing latency and increasing efficiency) to include testing for technical platforms.
Introduce new and impactful technologies to the production support tool chain that help minimize friction for production releases and support, and to diagnose and recover from production incidents more quickly.
Responsible for evaluating and implementing orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions to ensure consistent processes and repetitive tasks are performed with a higher level of accuracy and reduced defects.
Focuses on the Customer and Client with effective consultative skills across a multi-functional environment.
Communicates Effectively: Verbally and in writing, including effective presentation skills.
Drives Innovation and Change: Strong analytical skills, problem identification and resolution.
Partner with appropriate supporting teams to ensure operational readiness throughout the application lifecycle
Is an IT infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) and works with Development teams to build to standards that drive the highest levels of availability
