DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:
Building and maintaining tools, solutions, and microservices associated with deployment.
Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production, catching, and solving issues.
Update our processes and craft new processes as needed.
Automate our operational processes as needed, with accuracy, and in compliance with our security requirements.
Specifying, detailing, and developing new product features, and writing automation scripts.
Establish DevOps Engineer team standard methodologies.
Handle code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes.
Work with open-source technologies as needed.
Work with CI and CD tools, and source control such as GIT and SVN.
Offer technical support where needed.
Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve.
DevOps Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science with 6+ years of overall proven experience.
Strong experience in working on Unix/Linux platforms
Hands-on experience in Microservices development, Docker, Kubernetes, writing Helm charts.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby.
Experience in ELK stack, InfluxDB, Prometheus, Grafana, and databases such as SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Redis, Cassandra, MongoDB is a plus.
Knowledge of Agile methodology, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Jira.
Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Experience in working with Puppet or Chef for automation and configuration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
Current with industry trends, IT ops, and industry-standard methodologies, and able to identify the ones we should implement.
Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed.
Proven team player.
