Funding & Finance Technology

Finance and Funding Technology department at Morgan Stanley manages the funding for the firm while ensuring the firm has adequate liquidity for covering any liquidity risks. As a technology team, we build and own the products that are leveraged by Treasury for running stress simulations on firm positions across business units. We own multi-terabyte data warehouse and state of the art middle tier services that takes in the Firms global positions and processes through various Liquidity metrics calculation.

P&L Control technology
The P&L Team is looking for a highly skilled, motivated, innovative ETL developer with breadth and depth of technology skills to design, develop, and integrate different system components varying from in house to vendor systems towards the goal of renovating the firm?s accounting engine, models, and data processing for many areas of Finance. This will require architecture and infrastructure expertise in addition to ETL development. The role also requires expertise in database and data warehousing concepts, including relational modeling, ETL, and query optimization.

The candidate should be able to work well with the full life-cycle of the project from requirements analysis, design, development, rollout into production, as well as DevOps automation for continuous deployment.

The candidate will be involved but not limited to:

Build and enhance the ETL framework, automate and optimize database operations and utilities.
Adopting DevOps automation best practices to one of the largest and most critical data warehouse environments in the financial industry.
Address a broad range of other DevOps automation across Finance Technology.
Evolve strategy towards cloud-based architecture.
Working with a global team across multiple locations (New York, London, Budapest, and Mumbai).

QUALIFICATIONS
Skill Set

Relevant experience 4+ years
Strong proficiency with ETL Tool: Informatica PowerCenter and Scripting Language like Perl/Python/Unix and Scheduling Tool: Autosys

Strong Understanding of Datawarehouse concepts.
Proficiency with Relational Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, Teradata, or DB2, as well as Big Data repositories such as Hadoop and MongoDB
Experience with modern SDLC methodologies including Agile
Strong Written and Oral Communication skills

Skills Desired:

Familiar with UNIX/Linux application debugging
Open to learn new Technologies and work in dynamic environment to solve real life issues
Familiar to ETL Tool and Data warehouse concepts to develop, debug and enhance Current ETL Framework

DevOps tooling – automated change management
Computer Science or similar complexity analysis and computational optimization background
Experience with accounting and finance in the financial industry
