Job Description : Join The Digital Currency RevolutionLead Full Stack Software EngineerDescriptionTo support our international expansion, Bitcoin Wednesday is looking for a Lead Full Stack Developer with strong leadership skills and a talent for engineering exceptional user experiences. You’ll be directly involved in the complete development life cycle and will help decide what projects to initiate and features to build behind the scenes of the longest-running monthly cryptocurrency conference in The Netherlands.One of the challenges of the assignment is delivering innovative solutions in a geographically distributed team in what may prove to be one of the most exiting tech revolutions of our lifetime.Minimum BackgroundBS in a technical field of study such as Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.More than 6 years experience designing, developing and deploying solutions across the whole web stack, applying object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, protocols, web server optimization techniques and other fundamentals of Computer Science.Demonstrated ability building high quality solutions with Javascript, Python, HTML5 and CSS3.Mastery of web standards, including technologies and frameworks, including NodeJS, AngularJS, SASS, and both relational and NoSQL data stores, MYSQL and MongoDB preferred.Familiarity with many of the following technologies: Linux, Apache, MYSQL, PHP, Javascript, React.Experience with Git and Jenkins in an automated CI/CD environment.Track record meeting targets while balancing individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables, accepting ownership and accountability for process, results and honoring commitments.Disciplined and driven, excellent strategically and tactically.Naturally well-organized with exceptional work habits.Impressive communication skills in verbal and written English.Curiosity about and appreciation for cutting edge, disruptive technologies like blockchain and cryptocurrencies.Preferred QualificationsSolid understanding of networking concepts and web standards such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP stack, HTTP, internet routing and load balancing, web applications security, cryptography, network security, proxies, firewalls and application delivery controllers.Architectural knowledge of application layers, design patterns, browsers and web servers.Familiarity with new technology paradigms (such as serverless, containers, microservices, distributed machine learning).Knowledge of diverse SDLC methods such as Agile, Scrum, XP, RUP and Kanban in international organizations.Experience with Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery pipelines and conducting automated testing with Jenkins.Analytical skills, a data-driven approach to decision making and a systems-thinking style when problem solving.Talent for leading by example: thriving in a deadline-driven environment, while accepting ownership and accountability for process, results and delivering on commitments.Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.Proven ability to deliver results quickly under pressure, take initiative and build productive relationships.Experience setting up large-scale distributed systems, including multi-tier architectures, application security, monitoring and storage systems.Versatility in presenting complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences at a level that would allow you to publish papers, contribute to open source and influence international developer communities.An eye for next generation technologies that can help take us from our current position to the next level while improving security, reliability and performance.Attention to detail.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.Work alongside product team to design and build clean, stable and durable production code that is attuned to user experience.Ensure outstanding unit and integration test coverageAssist in the documentation processLead by example: Influence team strategy and effectiveness, provide direction and task management when necessary.Drive refactoring and debugging initiatives with an eye toward continuous learning and improvement.Support other developers from different levels in a distributed environment while working with minimal oversight and guidance.Quickly and independently provide technical solutions to business problems.Review specifications and code for other engineers in the team.Apply QA and Agile methodologies and best practices.Develop innovative next-generation products and features.You choose your own working times and locations.
