GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Reporting to the Assistant V.P. for Fundraising Events & Corporate Partnerships (FECP), the Director of Event Fundraising & Corporate Partnerships plays a visible and integral role in the Brigham Development Office (BDO). This position is responsible for growing BWH’s corporate partnership & cause marketing efforts, while also carrying a portfolio of larger fundraising events or programs. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial, self-motivated spirit and have a successful track record in philanthropy that includes sponsorship sales and the execution of high-level fundraising events.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Fundraising:
Responsible for leading the execution of a portfolio of BDO fundraising events. As team lead for these events, position is responsible for: successful execution of each event, meeting/exceeding revenue goals, and maintaining strong relationships with key donors involved. Examples of the events this position will lead and/or support are:
o Honor Our Caregivers Golf Tournament – date and location currently tbd
A new, high-profile golf tournament chaired by prominent BWH donors and involving many BWH stakeholders and leadersPosition to play a significant leadership role on team bringing event to fruition in 2022$1M revenue goal makes it the largest Fundraising Event for BWH
o Dan Ponton / Club Collette Palm Beach
This high-end, donor-led fundraiser is set to return in Dec. 2022 after a multi-year hiatus. Revenue expectations between $500K-$750K, or moreManage BDO’s relationship with event organizer and his staff, who organize event logisticsCoordinate production of marketing deliverables with Development Communications (Dev Comms) and the donorCoordinate BWH leadership attendance; includes travel, briefings, speaker prep, etc.Ensure proper stewardship of event organizer and his committeeOversee revenue collection process, coordinating with Club Collette staff for off-line gifts and ensuring all gifts are properly booked and acknowledged
o Step Up for Stepping Strong – corporate wellness challenge – $100K+
Manage all aspects of the Step Up program and grow event revenueBuild relationships with sponsors and lead efforts to recruit a presenting sponsorOversee strategy to recruit new corporate teams. Includes creation of materials, outreach email templates, oversight of Coordinator, etc.Collaborate with Dev. Comms to create annual marketing planLiaison to sponsors on all relationship and event detailsLiaison to MoveSpring (app used to host steps challenge)Oversee Associate & Coordinators contributions – weekly reporting and social postsCollaborate with Dev Comms and WCVB to finalize TV ads and scheduleDevelop strategies for engaging users and teams throughout the challengeContribute to the successful execution of any/all BDO fundraising events like the Great Brigham Playdate, Chasing Hope, running program, or other events as assigned. All FECP members shall be prepared to contribute to the execution of any FECP event, as needed. This includes shifting assignments of existing events and/or staffing for any new events that materialize.
Corporate Partnerships & Cause Marketing:
Serve as lead for the BDO’s efforts in these areas, in close collaboration with the AVP.Responsible for helping set the strategic vision to grow revenues from sponsors and cause marketingDevelop annual operating plan, project annual revenues, and suggest new strategiesMaintain expert-level knowledge of the sponsorship and cause marketing industriesSales Cycle & Relationships:
a. Oversee the strategy, execution, and renewals for the BWH Corporate Champions program, a special-tier of corporate sponsors who support the BDO through year-round, multi-event sponsorship packages.
b. Create professional sales decks and oversee related collateral like webpages, on-campus signs, etc.
c. Create a pipeline through prospecting, networking, and relationship building:
Internally:
BDO: closely collaborates with BDO colleagues to identify corporate connections through existing donors and hospital boards. (Major Gift Officers, Corp & Found, Exec Team)BWH-wide: represent the BDO across various hospital departments to: 1) identify sponsorable assets/opportunities 2) identify corporate prospects 3) seek approval from OII, OGC for partnerships requiring compliance vetting
Externally:
Maintain only exemplary relationships with corporate partnersNegotiate partnership parameters and oversee contracting processConstantly monitor news/trends to identify new prospects and build an industry networkSpeaks on behalf of BWH as needed and serve as a BWH representative at corporate functions, trade shows, networking events, professional development conferences, etc.
Administrative oversight:
Ensure FECP is following MGB guidelines for all sponsorship and cause marketing programs. Includes collaboration with BDO Fiscal and MGB OGC to ensure all policies/protocols are followed and all documentation is current and accurate.Ensure Atlas database is continuously updated with FECP activityManage all aspects of the sales cycle, prospect tracking, and results reportingCreate systems to ensure proper execution of sponsorships & cause marketing programs by both FECP staff and Dev Comms staffDevelop sponsorship models and work with Dev Comm to create annual sponsor deck templatesProvide sponsorship advice/materials to be shared with volunteer event organizers as they execute 3rd party community fundraisers on behalf of BWHShared oversight of a Development Coordinator
Note: FECP staff may be asked to assist with other events / projects as needed, at any time for any reason.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 7 years’ experience in managing and executing cause marketing programs and/or corporate sponsorshipsTrack record – Proven success executing 6-figure fundraising events, managing donor committees, securing high-level sponsors, and/or implementing successful cause marketing campaignsTeam Player – Proven ability to work successfully cross-functionally, collaborating with colleagues and corporate partnersA comprehensive understanding of fundraising, sponsorship, and cause marketing principles and practices, ideally within an academic medical center or major nonprofit organizationProven ability to motivate and engage high-value prospects, donors, volunteers, and senior hospital staffKnowledge of healthcare field required; BWH or MGB system preferredStrong PC experience with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with fundraising software (CRM, online fundraising platforms) preferred
