Your role
Are you an innovative thinker who is interested in liquidity risk management and would like to contribute to the efficient Liquidity and Funding resource consumption within a globally operating bank? Do you enjoy working on quantitative questions and data driven solutions? If so we are looking for you to support the Liquidity and Funding Modelling team where you will contribute to Group Treasury’s next generation of Liquidity and Funding models by:
– Collaborating with business SMEs in procuring, analyzing and understanding structured data to build empirical models / calibrations and/or to confirm / refine existing model assumptions
– Developing and implementing new model approaches & calibrations utilizing traditional as well as advanced data analytics techniques
– Maintaining the model across its lifecycle such as keeping the model documentation up to date, supporting periodically required model validation and conducting model changes/updates if needed
– Advising IT-delivery teams in integrating new models / calibrations into the production environment and supporting and designing controls to monitor model performance
Your team
You’ll be working in the Liquidity and Funding Modelling team based in Zurich (Opfikon) or London. We are responsible for the design and development of regulatory and internal liquidity and funding risk models deployed within UBS and its entities, as well as their maintenance and continuous improvement. These models are used to determine the funding and liquidity needs for UBS Group, regions and key entities globally, and to charge liquidity and funding costs to the respective businesses. Our team closely collaborates with the IT department, the reporting team, functional (business) experts and the treasury teams across the globe
Your expertise
You have:
– a university degree in, mathematics, statistics, empirical economics, quantitative finance, natural sciences or a related quantitative discipline
– strong analytical skills, with the ability to apply quantitative techniques to solve practical problems
– basic knowledge of financial markets and banking
– strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical/quantitative topics clearly and intuitively
– experience in treasury related projects/functions is a plus

You are:
– proficient in basic MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and traditional database accesses (e.g. SQL for Oracle)
– proficient in one or more programming syntaxes such as Python (PySpark), R or Scala

– open to absorb UBS specific business and system knowledge

– able to work under pressure and find pragmatic solutions when confronted with incomplete data

– team-orientated and welcoming about working in an international environment with many stakeholders
– fluent in English, oral and written
