Role Responsibilities
People and Talent
Hire, nurture talent as required.

Risk Management
Ownership of the delivery, highlighting various risks on a timely manner to the stakeholders.
Identifying proper remediation plan for the risks with proper risk roadmap.

Governance
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders
AIML Delivery Team, AIML Model Validation Team, AIML Model Improvement and Monitoring Team, Other stakeholders such as Regulators, etc relevant in a Banking environment.

Other Responsibilities
Data Science and Machine Learning
Build and deploy machine learning models.
Manage a team of data scientists.
Manage programs and projects involving ML and DL.
Experience in Computer Vision and Natural Language data.
Implement machine learning solutions.

Data Flow Design
Identify Major components of E2E Flow – Upstream and Downstream in terms of APIs.
Finalize the I/P and O/P Payload for all components.
Single Hit vs Batch API vs MQ etc.

Database Design
Identify all major data elements to be persisted as part of Database.
Design all the master / Transaction table structure.
Trade-offs analysis for ensuring minimal DB read / write time.(individual cols vs nested JSON).
Ensure no db deadlock or contention scenario due to design.

Application Design (API)
Design the E2E python Django application framework per different groups of functionalities (micro-services) within the process to be automated.
Identify parallel services to be decoupled (sync vs async call design, Daemon threads design if any).
Create stub API services using Postman to finalize on I/P and O/P Pay.

Application Design (App) Low Level (If UI Is applicable)
Work with UX for building wireframes for i) Personas ii) Application workflow iii) Screen interactions.
Ensure components feasibility basis availability in Material UI or other standard reusable components catalogue.
Build the base react app with placeholder components / app template.
Design the various API calls and I/P & O/P Payload for the same to back-end.
Ensure responsive design and custom CSS(Viewport) changes are accounted for.

Our Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems, or other related fields.
Expertism in machine learning, Deep learning, Python, Tensorflow and Pytorch.
API development, Deployment, CICD pipeline.
Ability to develop and manage a budget.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience in Agile way of working and tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello, Slack etc).
Comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing requirements.
