GEMS Wellington Academy Al Khail is a Premium National Curriculum for England School, located in the rapidly expanding Dubai Hills development. The Primary section opened in September 2013 and Secondary opened in September 2014. About the Role:

We are looking for a committed and dynamic Head of Music to join GEMS Wellington Academy, Al Khail from September 2022.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader or an experienced Music teacher looking for the next step in their career. You should be somebody who is looking to join a global leading company and a world-class international school as this is an excellent opportunity to grow music provision in a through school environment.

You will be responsible for running a successful department and should have previous experience implementing outstanding teaching and learning practice both within the classroom and across a wider department setting. With the Arts being an integral part of our curriculum at the Academy, the opportunities which Music presents for students is crucial to the continued development of Performing Arts provision at WEK.

The successful applicant will have the following:

A certified teaching qualification with exceptional subject knowledge and experience of leading a high performing teaching team. We will also consider applicants currently in a Deputy Head of department role looking for the next steps in their career.
Experience teaching GCSE and IB or equivalent. We are seeking to appoint talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individuals. You should have a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching.
At least 3 years’ experience of the National Curriculum for England.

To be considered for this post you must hold a B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent. The successful applicant will possess the willingness to commit to Extra Curricular activities
