A bit about the role…

Reporting to the Group Reporting and Legal Entity Controller, the IFRS and balance sheet analyst will help prepare the statutory accounts and drive forward improved balance sheet reporting. With Costa rapidly growing and IFRS becoming increasingly more complex, this role will be key in ensuring that we are applying IFRS correctly whilst producing the statutory accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Group Reporting and Legal Entity Controller with the production of the statutory accounts for ten UK companies
Using your good knowledge of IFRS, effectively challenge accounting entries that you do not agree with – proposing solutions and offering technical advice to resolve issues
Ensure the statutory accounts effectively communicate the Costa business to the reader
Heavily support the implementation of IFRS accounting in HFM and ensure that all accounting for all legal entities is maintained in HFM following the implementation
Support the Group Reporting and Legal Entity Controller with the creation of the Costa intercompany matrix on a monthly basis ensuring that counterparties agree balances in a timely manner
Support the Group Reporting and Legal Entity Controller with investment impairment reviews of our subsidiaries
Police the balance sheet by bringing in additional controls to ensure that balance sheets are reported correctly, where required work with your colleagues to create accounts that enable correct reporting and close down accounts that are no longer in use
Work with the Cash reporting team to align the balance sheet categories in HFM with the Coca-Cola Company to enable more consistent reporting on a monthly basis
Support the Group Reporting and Legal Entity Controller on matters of technical accounting including the regular update of the Costa Accounting Manual
Support the Group Reporting and Legal Entity Controller with Project work as required

A part qualified or newly qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong understanding of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards
Experience of a multi ledger asset environment
Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system experience and advanced MS Excel skills
Well-developed communication skills and evidence of building successful stakeholder relationships
Experience of working in a large global reporting and control team is desirable
