Join National Star’s friendly job coach team and help young adults with disabilities to secure the job that they deserve.National Star’s job coaches support a wide range of students, preparing them for the world of work by building their confidence, improving their employability skills and helping them to decide where their future career aspirations lie. They also use their networking skills to broker future work placement opportunities with a range of employers from small independent businesses to large multi-nationals and high street retailers.You need to be a genuine people person to get the most out of this role, with patience and empathy in equal measure. You’ll accompany students to their work placements until they have the confidence to attend independently. You’ll support them to use public transport so they can eventually travel to work by themselves and be there for them if they have any worries or concerns. Whether it’s the big moments some of us take for granted or the small triumphs at work that others wouldn’t expect, together, we focus on what’s possible for every person we support. It’s their life. You make sure they’re busy living it.If you’re positive and passionate about empowering young people with disabilities, then you’re exactly who we’re looking for. You will ideally have experience of working with people who have learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities and may already be working as a job coach.
