Job Description : Sunfield Specialist School and Children’s Home is located in the beautiful Clent Hills, West Midland and is part of the Ruskin Mill Trust providing innovative and experiential education, and supports young people (6 – 19 years) with complex learning needs, including autism and PDA.For over 30 years, Ruskin Mill Trust has provided Specialist Independent Education to children and adults with complex needs including learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and disabilities. Our provisions offer both day and residential placements and applications. Inspired by Aonghus Gordon using the insights of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris, Ruskin Mill Trust works with hand, head, heart and place to provide students with the tools to transform material and in doing so transform themselves.Land Ecology Tutor40 hours / 52 weeksSalary £22,619- £33,437 per annumDependant on skills, qualifications and experienceWe are seeking to appoint a Land Ecology Tutor to work with the School Farm Manager and the Land Team to deliver high quality lessons to small groups of students with a focus on landscape ecology.To develop schemes of work which utilise the outdoor environment as the central resource in teaching and are appropriate to children and young people with complex learning difficulties as well as support the biodynamic farm with particular focus on habitat development and management.Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate: Experience of tutoring, teaching and training on land based projects.Experience of working in a land based setting horticulture, estates or countryside and forest school.A teaching qualification or working towards a relevant teaching qualification.Good interpersonal communication skills with ability to form cohesive partnershipsYou will be able to demonstrate good planning organisational and time management skillsAbility to manage and interact with others in a supportive and participative mannerA high level of motivation and a flexible and professional approach is requiredWorking at Sunfield is incredibly rewarding and in return, we offer competitive salaries with progression in pay once qualified.
